We Dig Gardens!

Weeding is our speciality. In the Spring or Fall, when you need to get your garden off on the right track or close it down for the year, we can give you a hand.

We can also set and follow a routine maintenance plan, so that you know that your garden is taken care of throughout the year.

Trouble-spot planning is no sweat. We can help with small spaces, shady spots and even help you to live in tune with the animals you might find in your garden

Weeding & Pruning

Weeding - yes, just as your plants grow with the addition of sunlight and rain, so do the weeds. We will use our trowels to get rid of them for you.

Pruning - we love pruning and shaping small trees and shrubs. If you have large trees that need attention we would be happy to recommend qualified arborist a to you.

Soil amendment - although not the nicest part of the garden it is by far the most important. If you do not have good soil your plants will not flourish. We will help you to identify your soil conditions and recommend materials for improvement.

Deep root watering and fertilizing - with your mature trees and shrubs especially need deep root watering as their roots go down deep but all of your trees and shrubs would benefit from this practise. Fertilizing them at the roots will ensure that they get off to a great start each spring.

Planting - although considered by most gardeners to be one of the most enjoyable aspects of gardening, if you do not have the time, inclination or physical ability to do this yourself, we are happy to do your planting for you. You are welcome to supervise us or allow us to indulge our knowledge and creativity.

Container gardening - today's containers have evolved far beyond the pots of geraniums or petunias our mothers and grandmothers used to plant (although a simple container filled with one type of plant material can still be very effective and beautiful). Whether you are looking for containers to frame your entrance and welcome people to your home or containers to "fill in" space and enhance your yard we are happy to design and plant them for you.

Seasonal cleaning and maintenance - a beautiful, lush garden is the result of a lot of hard grunt work that mostly goes unnoticed. Preparing the soil for planting, removing dead and damaged plant material, relocating plants that are not flourishing in a particular location, pruning small trees and shrubs, planting bulbs that will overwinter and grow the following spring are all jobs that require time and effort. These jobs are often tedious and sometimes difficult. The results of these jobs often do not appear for several months and yet, if you want your garden to flourish someone needs to do them. We would be pleased to do them for you and allow you to enjoy the fruits of our labours.

Cleaning and maintenance for special events - whether it's a backyard wedding, a surprise birthday party or your annual pig roast we would love to come into your garden and help you get it looking its best.

Consultation - love gardening but not sure why your garden is not living up to your vision? I am happy to come in and look at your garden to give you some ideas and suggestions.

Garden redesign - I like to call this garden restoration or renovation. Without continual care and attention all gardens will eventually become overgrown. It is sad but true that weeds always seem to flourish. In fact, the more neglect they get, the more they grow. If you look at your garden and are overwhelmed with what you see or if you want to clean up your garden but don't know where to start (and as a result do nothing) we can help.
